An Idea to Change the World Pt 1
Last Friday I was on a panel speaking at a conference called ADDO.
The topic of the panel was “Doing Well by Doing Good.”
During the Q&A session, someone asked this question and I believe it’s worth a couple posts…
“How do you come up an idea that can change the world?”
I’ve found, people who have started movements that can change the world have had inspiration in a couple different ways.
Often times, people come across something in the world that shakes them to the core.
What they have seen or learned will not let them sleep at night.
Many times these causes have to do with
– sex trafficking
– poverty
– politics
– abuse
– war
They begin posting through their personal outlets to see if other people care about the same cause.
They create a tribe of people locally or viral to begin moving the ball on this issue.
One person is helped and the tribe gains momentum.
At some point, this tribe of people become a movement.
People’s lives are changed.
The world is better for them.
What movements have you seen started like this?

I agree, sometimes when we are trying to decide what to do with ourselves the best question to ask is, What makes me angry when I see it?
Great thoughts Blake!
